I kept thinking that it was time to try something new but getting up the courage to actually make a change is hard. I had heard good things about Taylored Training and I wanted to check it out but I was pretty intimidated. I walked past the gym many times before I finally got up the courage to go inside but I have never been happier with a decision.
Joining Taylored Training really paid off and turned out to be an amazing experience. I never thought that I would enjoy going to the gym as much as I did. Going to the gym became the favorite part of my day.
My fitness goals are just to keep training and keep getting stronger. Since joining Taylored Training I have seen some pretty incredible results. I stopped focusing on weight loss and instead started focusing on training. I started to lift heavier weights and eat the right foods. By doing those things I saw better results in a few months than I had seen in years of going to the gym previously. I looked better but I also felt great! Now I care more about how good I feel, how strong my body is and how it moves, rather than how I look and I’m so much happier for it (looking better is just an added bonus!).
My goal is to just keep up that momentum, keep working at getting stronger. When I focus on training properly, everything else just falls into place.
When I started at Taylored Training I could do 2 real pushups (with the proper range of motion) and another few half-assed pushups. Now I can do 15 to 20 pushups with the proper range of motion.
Taylored Training is different from any other gym I’ve ever been to. The focus is on training and health rather than crazy weight loss schemes. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive and encouraging. Going to the gym became a really enjoyable experience and I never felt confused. If I didn’t know how to do something they were always able to point me in the right direction. They were also great at pushing me to succeed, helping me get to the next level. I am positive that I never would have made the improvements I did without their help and support.
I recently moved away from Kingston to Toronto and as a result I had to leave Taylored Training. I have spent the past month trying out different gyms all across Toronto. I have yet to find one that can reach the high bar set by Taylored Training. Taylored Training was innovative, the staff were enthusiastic and everyone had a lot of integrity. Those are very impressive qualities to have and they are hard to find.
I was incredibly nervous about joining Taylored Training in the beginning. I was really intimidated. But I am so glad that I did. It has been one of the best experiences I have ever had.
I have gained so much more than strength and fitness. I have gained a whole new mindset (that being strong and fit is much more important than being thin, and looks better to!) and an understanding of how my body works and what I need to do to help it get stronger and healthier.
I was only able to join Taylored Training for a short time due to my move but what I gained in that short time will stay with me for much longer.
