Michael Carter has been practicing for 20 years including significant time spent in India learning from the source. He has not taught for many years after becoming disheartened by the challenges of finding truly interested students. But we have convinced him to reconsider and open up times weekly to share his knowledge and passion with a small number of students.
This is not a cookie cutter yoga chain with ‘teachers’ who have never truly lived, breathed, and studied what yoga truly is.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who is truly interested in discovering yoga and how much of a positive impact it can have on your life!

Yoga Class Times at Taylored Training Health Centre:
In 1999, I became a resident of the Kripalu Yoga Center in Lenox, Massachusetts. For the next two years I immersed myself in the teachings of Yoga and applied them to my daily life. I had the great fortune during this time to participate in a unique yoga teacher training program that lasted several months under the guidance of Yogan and Michael Carrol. Our program included asana, pranayama, meditation and scriptures. I started teaching Yoga classes towards the end of my residency and it was deeply fulfilling.
When I returned home to Toronto I spent some time getting certified as a personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise (ACE). I spent the next several years teaching Yoga at the YMCA and at private Yoga schools. I also started my study of Ashtanga Yoga with Jonathan Austman, who I met as a resident at Kripalu. My primary teachers during this period were Paul and Rachelle Gold, who instructed me in the traditional method of Ashtanga Yoga as taught to them by their teachers in India. Through daily instruction, over the course of several years, they guided me as I deepened my practice. While at their school I met and learned from several visiting teachers. I completed additional Yoga workshops in Canada and the United States, and spent two summers living in Mysore, India to learn Ashtanga Yoga at the source.
For the past 20 years of my life, Yoga practice has never failed to brighten my day. There are as many ways to practice Yoga as there are organisms on our planet. I believe that asanas, like life, should be approached as a personal journey. How your asana compares to others is less important than how fully present you are with your own practice.
Classes welcome any age and level of ability. If you’ve never practiced before, this is a great chance to come take some time to find out what yoga can do for your mind and body. I invite you to join me with your mat and and an open mind as to what your body can do and where your mind can take you. At the end of each class we will finish with a guided meditation and a chance to unwind from your day. I look forward to seeing you!
